Our Summer
Well, our summer has been full, even though we have not taken any family trips after the trip to Cleveland. Peter has been working hard at both real estate and photography, and I have been diligently in search of the perfect job. I may have found it, but I don't know for sure yet, so I won't elaborate for now.
So, our summer has been full of work, but also full of family time. I have finally managed to arrive at that place I get to every summer, where I am so close to the girls that we can have inside jokes and secrets, and are completely at ease with eachother. If only I could keep the distractions of work and stress away all year long.
We have been swimming..everywhere..all the time. We swim in the pool every day, we take drives to Wawona to swim in the river and slide down into the granite pool under Swinging Bridge. We also spend long days at Bass Lake. My girls love the water. Berit swims in the deep end now, and Audrey is suddenly swimming so well, I am starting to daydream about swim teams that would enroll a three and 1/2 year old. People at the pool point at her in amazement.

Camp!
Berit and Audrey and I are very excited because we are going to overnight camp in Mariposa for three days. We will all stay in the kindergarten/preschool cabin and I will help the counselor. I love camp! Camp Win Johnson is an annual camp through our church. We are collecting my old Camp Christopher songs to sing while we are there. The girls are looking forward to having their own flashlights!. We leave Friday morning, and we get back Sunday afternoon. Then on Monday, we are off to catch our flight to Cleveland to visit my parents.

Summer break gives me time for family...
I am going to try, once again, to keep in touch with relatives and family friends through a blog. So many of you want to see pictures and video of the girls, and I thought this would be the best way of sharing. I have tried this before, you might remember. Check out this blog from 2006. I must have stopped bloggging right about the time I went back to work full time. Now it is summer break, I am temporarily unemployed, and I find that I now have the energy to attempt the blogging habit again. I created a blog for my ninth grade English students this year, which featured their writing and projects.(Check it out HERE.) Everyone really got into it, and now I kind of miss keeping that blog up. So, my energies are now redirected toward my family...at least until the fall when school starts again.
It makes a blog more vibrant if more than one person keeps it up, so please, join my blog, and then you can post news, photos and videos from your family, too!
